Hello everyone. Just wanted to update you on a few things.

There was a team of doctors from Children’s Hospital in Detroit that met about Kendall. Initially they stated if she needed a heart transplant and no other organs, they would do the transplant there. During their meeting last week they all agreed that her situation, history and needs are too complicated for them to do it there. Of course they have done plenty of heart transplants but they don’t have experience of doing a heart transplant on a child with one functioning lung as in Kendall’s case. They all agreed that she should go to a facility that has more experience in multi-organ transplant. So 100% for sure she will be going to Pittsburgh for evaluation and transplant.
At this time we still have no dates for anything or any other information. We are still waiting to get a phone call from the transplant team at Children’s Hospital Detroit letting us know when they want to see her in Pittsburgh. After the evaluation is completed and it is decided if the transplant will be heart only or heart/lungs, then she will go on transplant list.
So basically long story short this isn’t much of an update because these are all things I have told you before. The only thing new is that having the transplant here is not an option anymore. Of course the doctors that have known her all of her life are devastated that they can’t continue to be her doctors and take care of her through this whole process. We are devastated too because they know her and we are like family.
But we know that she will be in good hands and God has already placed the best team in Pittsburgh that are going to give her supreme care and perform their best work. He is always in control and we trust Him. This is in no way easy to process and think about everyday but she has come this far for a reason and her journey/story will continue for years to come.
